NCW is a gaming organization, or clan, that is headquarted in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is playing StarCaft. We will be playing the upcoming Blizzard game StarCraft II.
Why are you listing a game that hasn't come out yet?
Because we all share a love for the original StarCraft so great that we'd do anything to be at the very forefront of the clanosphere when the game finally is released.
What channel and/or server do you guys play on?
The official channel is Op ClanNCW, and we usually play on USWest.
What does NCW stand for?
Newbies Can Win
Network Centric Warfare
Why does NCW stand for Newbies Can Win and/or Network Centric Warfare?
Newbies Can Win: NCW believes that newbies are the most critical aspect to any video game, and we seek to help newcomers to the game become more skilled.
Network Centric Warfare: A system used by the U.S. Military to conduct combat. Basically, it relies on advanced networking software to coordinate military action extremely effectively. Also, NCW's "warfare" is almost all simulated over a network of some kind, whether through a local hub or the Internet.
What is a newbie?
A newbie is, very simply, a player who is new to the game in question. (A StarCraft newbie, for example.) The term can also be applied to larger fields, like gaming in general, the Internet, or any parts thereof. (A Slashdot newbie.) The diminutive form of newbie is newb. It can also be spelled noob, or occasionally in leet as n00b.
